    We are pleased to announce the return of our Alexandria Tennis Academy- SSSAS Tennis Camp for Boys and Girls.  Sessions begin as early as June 11 and continue through August 17, 2018 and you can sign up for an AM or a Full-Day session.
    This camp is directed by our Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Mr. Kinde Taye. Players at all levels of experience are welcome as Coach Taye will personalize your tennis training experience while focusing on improving your fundamental knowledge and skill set of the game.  Coach Taye is the 2016 Washington Post All-Metropolitian Region Coach of the Year and he is a USPTA certified tennis professional with over 25 years experience coaching regionally and nationally ranked players from around the country.  Coach Taye is also the owner and director of the Alexandria Tennis Academy.     All-Sports Camp is always a summer favorite! Under the direction of Coach Michael Carter, the Saints All-Sports Camp staff members return in July with a full day of activities for young sports enthusiasts. Soccer, basketball, wiffleball, dodge ball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and capture the flag are just a few of the traditional activities planned for this fun-filled summer sports explosion. This coed camp is organized into older and younger groups. All campers who attend will receive a t-shirt.

    men to the Saint’s Boys Basketball Camp. SSSAS basketball day camp is
    specifically intended to prepare you for basketball and beyond. You’ll develop a
    foundation for playing strong, smart basketball through specially designed
    activities, competitions, and games that will help build habits that will lead you to
    successful play. You’ll learn new ways to improve your ball handling, control your
    body and beat your defender off the dribble to make the correct play.

    The goal of SSSAS Basketball Camp is to ensure, through detailed and efficient
    training, that each player learn the game of basketball and become a smart effective
    player. SSSAS Basketball Camp will focus on improving weakness, honing strengths,
    and giving athletes the tools to help them perform well in every aspect of their
    game.

    Head Coach Mike Jones played professionally for 11 years in France, Turkey,
    Poland and Iran, as well as in the CBA. Coach Jones also spent two years working on

  • Boys Basketball Camp with Marcus Ginyard

    "Marcus Ginyard Basketball Camp" is excited for another year of fun in Alexandria, VA.  Marcus Ginyard has played 8 seasons of professional basketball in Europe after winning a National Championship at the University of North Carolina.  Marcus Ginyard runs the camp with his brother, Ron Ginyard, a former D1 and High School basketball coach.  Come join them for a week of fun while working on your basketball skills.  Campers can expect to have one-on-one instruction with the Ginyards and other professional players.  Emphasis will be on basic fundamentals with an opportunity to play structured games and compete in skill contests.  The last day of camp features an award ceremony during which campers will receive trophies for winning contests and for excelling in specific basketball skills.     New Saints Boys Varsity Head Coach Tim Dodds and his staff offer this camp for novice and experienced lacrosse players in rising grades 3-8. The program will focus on individual position work and fundamentals, team offense and defense concepts as well as full field situations. Drills used at the high school and college levels will be used to teach and simulate real game situations. Full-Day campers will go to the swimming pool from 1:00-2:00PM Monday-Thursday.  CAMPERS MUST SUPPLY ALL EQUIPMENT.
    Please note full day camp runs 9AM-3PM Monday through Thursday and 9AM-12noon on Friday.

  • Boys of Summer Baseball Camp

    For many kids, summertime can only mean one thing – time to break out your bat and gloves, and let’s play ball! Saints Varsity Baseball Head Coach Jim Supple, a former four-year starter and team captain at Georgetown University, will host baseball players of all ages and skill levels in this week-long camp. Players will get a chance to work on all aspects of their game, including fielding, throwing, hitting, pitching and base running as they challenge themselves in games and competitions throughout the week. Led by current and former Saints players, campers will be grouped by age to ensure proper skill level and instruction. The week will include a trip to Nationals Park for a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s clubhouse, batting cages and bullpen – a true Major League experience. So lace up your cleats, put on your helmet, and let’s hit the field!

  • Field Hockey Camp for Girls

    The Saints field hockey camp is open to all skill levels in rising grades 3-7. Camp counselors include both Saints Varsity coaches and players. Each day will consist of stations, drills and small games designed around the fundamental skills of field hockey. We will touch on all aspects of the game including technique, strategy, and fitness all while having as much fun as possible.  Each day will also include a trip to a local pool for a much deserved break from the sun. Every camper should have their own equipment including mouth guard, shin guards, stick, and goggles. The registration fee includes a Saints Field Hockey reversible jersey.   • Football Camp

    Returning for his fifth year, Saints Faculty Member and Varsity Football Head Coach Bernard Joseph will direct this non-contact skills football camp with past and present football players from SSSAS. The camp is designed to teach the art of football to all skill levels, emphasizing safe play and skill development. Coach Joseph is an alumnus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he played alongside 2009 NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Bruce Smith. Mr. Joseph began his coaching career at Virginia Tech under the direction of Coach Bill Dooley and staff. He oversaw the special teams and assisted with coaching the defensive line unit. Mr. Joseph coached at Catholic University and later served as the Head Coach for Bishop McNamara High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Coach Joseph is known for his ability to teach and coach the game of football effectively and safely to players of all skill levels. Early registration is recommended for this camp due to its growing popularity.

    Saints Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach Calvin Crenshaw returns to lead this year’s camp which features individual shooting instruction, ball-handling drills, individual and team defense, one-on-one and three-on-three play, as well as an eight-game league. There will be special emphasis placed on basketball fundamentals during drills and competitive play. Players will be organized according to age and/or experience in order to receive appropriate individual attention. Come join us for this summer hoops extravaganza!

  • Girls Basketball Shooting Clinic Camp

    Got a hot hand? Saints Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach Calvin Crenshaw will conduct a special half-day shooting clinic for girls who are ready to take their game to the next level. This clinic will focus on the mechanics of shooting with particular emphasis on lay-ups, free throws, jump shots, and the ever-popular three-point shot. Throughout the week, campers will participate in a variety of shooting drills and contests designed to promote fun and improve accuracy and consistency. Special prizes will be awarded each day. There will also be games of 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5.

    SSSAS Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach and former Ohio State University goalkeeper, Ms. Stacey Williams brings her knowledge and enthusiasm for lacrosse to any interested girls in rising grades K-8. This year, the camp will be divided into 2 groups: Red Saints Lacrosse Group (Grades K-5) and the Green Saints Lacrosse Group (Grades 6-8). The morning sessions for the Red group will focus on fundamentals, footwork, small game play, lots of skill based movement games  and having FUN! The morning session for the Green group will focus on fundamentals, individual and team offense and defense that will progress from 1v1's to full field scrimmages by the end of the week, improving their lax IQ and having FUN! If you're ready to learn lacrosse the SAINTS way, come and be coached by SSSAS alums playing in college and current SSSAS lacrosse players.  Players of all levels (including those playing for the first time) are welcome and skill groups will be formed based on age and ability.  There will be specialized GK instruction with both the Red and Green groups. Protective eye wear, mouth guard, water bottle and stick are required. Goalkeepers need to bring their own equipment.
    Full-Day campers will go to the swimming pool from 1:00-2:00pm each day and come back and finish the day off with afternoon games. Full day campers can also purchase lunch each day for $5 and additional snacks and drinks will be sold. In addition to your lacrosse gear, full day campers will also need to bring a swimming suit, towel, and water shoes.

    Saints alumna Jen Holden (’05) will return to SSSAS for her seventh year to share her Division I lacrosse skills with rising K-7 graders. This dynamic camp is open to any local players, beginners through advanced, who are looking to have a fun week while improving their lacrosse skills.

    We will have two fields of players in order to refine skills and work closely with individual players. Field one will consist of kindergartners through rising third graders, focusing on fundamental skills; catching, throwing, cradling, field positioning and team concepts. This field will house our youngest rising stars, cultivating an atmosphere of teamwork and love for the game. Hand/eye coordination and ball control will be practiced through interactive games and activities. Staff will include current SSSAS players and collegiate athletes.

    Field two will consist of rising 4-7 graders, focusing on specific skills, game concepts, game situations, body position, and refined ball control. Staff will include SSSAS varsity players and other collegiate athletes. On each field players will be divided into age and ability groups to further specialize and improve skills. Well-known Saints Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Kathy Jenkins will be guest coaching a session during the week.

    Campers are responsible for supplying their own equipment, including protective eyewear, stick, and mouth guard. Campers are also responsible for providing their own lunch each day. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase during camp hours. This camp is being offered as a full- or half-day option July 6-10. Full day registration is highly recommended so campers can truly benefit from all the camp has to offer. Morning snack and lunch will be indoors each day, in an air-conditioned space.     Varsity Track and Field Head Coach Scott McLeod and Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach Stacey Williams team up for this unique camp to combine lacrosse and speed training into one camp! This is one camp, you don’t want to miss!
     
    During the speed training portion of camp, the athletes will focus on efficient movement, change of speed and direction, speed games and explosive movements. These focused skills will also be applied to lacrosse drills in the morning and small sided games in the afternoon.
     
    During the lacrosse portion of camp, the athletes will focus on individual stick skills and individual and team offense and defense concepts that will progress from 1v1's to full field scrimmages by the end of the week, improving their lax IQ and having FUN!
     
    Morning skill groups will be formed based on grade and ability.  There will also be specialized GK instruction available during the camp. Protective eye wear, mouth guard, water bottle, sneakers, turf shoes/cleats and stick are required. Goalkeepers need to bring their own equipment. In addition to your lacrosse gear, full day campers will also need to bring a swimming suit, towel, and water shoes.
     
    Full-Day campers will go to the swimming pool from 1:00-2:00pm each day and come back and finish the day off with afternoon lacrosse and speed games, core work, and a proper cool down. Full day campers can also purchase lunch each day for $5 and additional snacks and drinks will be sold.
     
    Coach McLeod and Coach Williams are known for their ability to teach and coach effectively and safely to athletes of all ages and skill levels. We hope that you will join us for a fun week where we will test your limits in both lacrosse and speed training while having a blast! Current SSSAS varsity lacrosse and track and field players will help coach the camp and will be joined by current college lacrosse players who excelled as both a Saints Lacrosse and Track and Field athlete too!

  • Quarterback Elite Training Camp

    SSSAS is proud to present our first football Quarterback Elite Training Camp. This QB Elite camp will focus on developing proper throwing mechanics, techniques & fundamentals of a Quarterback. The camp would be lead by former Delaware State University’s legendary Quarterback Vashon Winton. Coach Winton, a 2007 MEAC Champion & Delaware State University 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame inductee started his coaching career overseas in France where he played & coached the youth program for Aix en Provence Argo’s sports club organization. Coach Winton later coached at his alma mater Chicago,Illinois powerhouse Simeon H.S; where he served as Head Coach Track & Field & Offensive coordinator/QB Coach in which they won the 2016 Chicago Public League Football Championship. Coach Winton specializes in developing complete dynamic quarterbacks to be great leaders on the field and in the community.     Speed, Sports and Fun!

    On the newly resurfaced track, SSSAS will be holding its third annual Speed, Sports and Fun Camp this summer! You will improve your speed, coordination and fitness and have a blast
    doing it. Camp Director, Scott McLeod, is the Saints Boys and Girls Head Coach for Cross Country/Track & Field. Coach McLeod and his staff will be holding this camp focusing on
    proper running mechanics which allow athletes to run efficiently and become faster. Coach McLeod competed in Division I track & field and coached track & field five years at his alma
    mater, Georgetown University. For the past ten seasons as the Head Coach at SSSAS, over 40 school records have been broken and he has coached 30 ISL Champions, 12 IAC Champions and 25 VISAA State champions. Coach McLeod is known for his ability to teach and coach all of the track & field events effectively and safely to athletes of all ages and skill levels.

  • Wrestling Camp For Boys

    Saints Wrestling Camp is led by SSSAS Varsity Head Wrestling Coach Trae Humphreys who is assisted by former All-State and current Division I Collegiate Wrestlers. This camp is designed to introduce many elements of the sport that will lead to success both on and off of the mat. Our staff will help wrestlers of all levels improve their skills and abilities by offering introduction to technique, hands-on instruction, live wrestling, and games. Participants will learn basic takedowns, moves from the bottom position, and pinning combinations, as well as ways to develop their own wrestling style. Off of the mat we focus on our team motto: “wrestling is training for life” and learn the many ways that our experiences in wrestling can help teach us life lessons. Coaches will also address important issues such as proper nutrition, hydration, and conditioning for wrestlers.
     
    Most importantly, this camp is designed to teach the sport of wrestling and encourage competition in a fun environment.
