Begin Middle School math with confidence!!  In this course, we will recap the major foundational skills taught in fifth grade math to help your student start Middle School math with confidence and the abilities they need.

Students will review working with whole numbers and decimals and how to apply them to real-world situations, solve one step equations, and use the order of operations.  Students will review with direct instruction and have the opportunity to practice during group, partner, and individual activities.  Daily interactive games will be included to keep students engaged and enthusiastic.  We will end the course with a preview of Math 6 in the hopes of easing the transition to Middle School.

This course will be taught over Zoom.  At the conclusion of the course, students will be given opportunities and suggestions to keep their skills sharp in the remaining weeks before they begin sixth grade.

This class is taught by SSSAS faculty member, Ms. Julie Riedy. Ms. Riedy teaches Math 6 and Pre-Algebra at the Middle School. If you have any questions regarding the course, please email Ms. Riedy at jriedy@sssas.org
