  • ASM Summer Tennis Camp

    SSSAS Alumni Chris Moulin brings ASM International Tennis Academy (USA, Russia, Kazakhstan) to St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School for Summer 2017: For Ages 5-14
     
    ASM Tennis Red, Orange, and Green Ball Camp (Limited to 30 junior players per week) register fast limited availability.
    ASM’s Tennis Specialized camp programs for Children ages 5-14 enables players to learn and be grouped according to level and ability.  ASM International Tennis Academy are located in USA, Russia, and Kazakhstan.  Players 5-12 can register for a weekly tennis Red (5-8 years of age), Orange (8-10 years of age) and Green Ball Camp (10-12 years of age). Development Camp (ages 8-14) is for USTA team players or USTA individual players level intermediate through advanced.  Individual Master Classes (all ages) are for players to work one and one to develop proper technique, consistency, and strategy for players.

    The ASM tennis camp programs begin June 5 and runs weekly through August 25 and is located on the shaded tennis courts at the SSSAS Lower school campus. Program activities include weekly tennis, indoor activities, prizes, competitions, games and an end of the week pizza party.  Campers will be grouped according to age or ability level.  Quick-start courts and soft balls will be used for players ages 5-12 (36” red ball, 60” orange ball, and 78” green ball).  The cost of participation is listed below and payment needs to be submitted to ASM.  To complete registration a non-refundable deposit of $50 is due at time of registration.  Non-refundable deposit is paid at registration at www.asmsport.net. Remaining balance is due June 1, 2017 payable by Check made out to ASM.
    ALL ASM Camp Program options run Weekly sessions (M-F) from June 5 – August 25, 2017 at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes Lower School located at 400 Fontaine Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22302.

    Day Red, Orange, and Green Ball Camp: Red, Orange and Green Ball Camp (Beginners and Intermediates)     
    Hours: Full Day 9:00am - 3:00pm, Half Day 9:00am-12:00pm and 12:00pm-3:00pm
    Ages: 5-12
    Cost:  $325 per full week, Half Day $225 per week, or One Day $80 per day.  $50 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration to hold camper enrollment slot.  
    Camp balance due by check on June 1, 2017.
    Payment:  Checks payable to ASM.
    Day Development Camp: Intermediate players through Advanced Tournament Players using Orange, Green, and Standard Yellow Tennis Balls.
    Hours:  Full Day 8:30am - 3:00pm, Half Day 08:30am-11:30am and 12:30pm-3:00pm
    Ages: 8-14
    Cost:  $375 per full week, Half Day $250 per week, or One Day $90 per day.  $50 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration to hold camper enrollment slot.  Camp balance due by check on June 1, 2017.
    Payment:  Checks payable to ASM.
    Individual Master Classes: any level (1hr)
    Hours: Between 3:00pm-7:00pm
    Ages: any age (juniors, parents and community welcome)
    Cost:  $85 per hour.

    The Soccer Pros is a physical development program for boys and girls specializing in soccer instruction and games. Younger campers learn fundamental skills through dribbling, shooting, and passing games, all in a warm and friendly environment. The older age groups focus on developing skills and techniques through soccer games, challenges, and team-building competitions. The Soccer Pros will have special appearances from current and former professional soccer players to sign autographs and answer questions about becoming a real Soccer Pro!

    Mini Pros: Ages 4-6 
    This program is specialized for our youngest age groups and uses a variety of fun games to delight and engage kids in physical education. This camp is professionally designed to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and create self-confidence in kids. We stress a non-competitive environment and promote fun above all else. AM, PM, or Full-Day sessions available.
     
    Junior Pros: Ages 7-10
    In this program campers will be taught how to optimize tactics such as ball control, dribbling, shooting, and passing. The Soccer Pros puts emphasis on proper technique on the field. The Soccer Pros instructors will provide your child with fun and creative ways to play both individually and within a team environment. The Soccer Pros staff will conduct small-sided games, tournaments and other fun-related activities. AM, PM, or Full-Day sessions available.
     
    Soccer Pros Elites: Ages 11-13
    This program is designed to create a fun, yet challenging experience through individual and group instruction. Players learn to develop the skills necessary to play soccer correctly and at a fun and desired level. The Soccer Pros staff will conduct small-sided games, tournaments and other fun-related activities. AM, PM, or Full-Day sessions available.

    Chess Camp Ages 5 – 16, Introductory to Advanced This summer USA Chess is offering our exciting and entertaining chess camp at more than 100 locations nationwide. USA Chess is the largest and premier chess camp organizer for children in the United States. The staff is comprised of the finest children’s chess instructors in North America. Registration options include mornings, afternoon and all­day sessions. Campers experience chess instruction and play in a fun filled environment designed to improve their skills whether they are interested in casual or competitive chess. Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft Ages 8 – 16 Minecraft is hugely popular because it’s collaborative, open­ended and moddable. Our program preserves those qualities and adds a large dose of fun! The week begins with learning the game, controls, recipes and a bit about hosting & networking. Next campers are connecting to different worlds hosted on our secure server and experimenting with character skins, mods and custom maps. By day three the kids are building in the Active Learning World that grows over time. Whether adding a room, building a moat or even creating a chessboard the possibilities are nearly limitless. This is a half­day program. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.

    Video Game Creation – Platform Style – Like Sonic & Mario Ages 8 ­ 16, Introductory to Intermediate In this camp children build a game described as a "platform" game like Sonic or Mario. Children have a blast as their characters do the impossible, overcome obstacles and opponents and then conquer the Big Boss. The character progresses on a long path (like a journey) with the background scrolling behind it and adversaries, prizes, obstacles, are encountered as it goes. Lessons on the basics will be similar to the Arcade course in the very beginning, but the class diverges and different programming techniques are taught in order to build this Platform game. This is a half­day program. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.

    Kodu Video Game Creation – Adventure Ages 7 ­ 16, Introductory to Intermediate Children will have the option of learning how to program using a Microsoft Xbox controller! Students will create their own cool custom world and navigate through it. Within this world they will create tasks that need to be completed in order to progress to the next level. Some of those tasks include escaping a sewer maze, survival mode, outwitting rivals, creating decoys and collecting bonus items all while having fun! This is a half­day camp. Xbox controller is optional and supplied by the student. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School is an independent, college-preparatory, coed, day, Episcopal Church School that educates students in junior kindergarten through grade 12. The school consists of three, age-appropriate campuses (Lower, Middle, and Upper School) in Alexandria, Virginia. SSSAS welcomes families of all faiths.
