Explore the Bible as a living text that has shaped—and continues to shape—culture, ethics, and the way we understand our world.
(Religion Course #570)
This 9-day course fulfills the semester Biblical Studies requirement for graduation and introduces students to the Bible as a sacred text that has shaped art, music, history, ethical thinking, and enduring human questions. Through a dynamic blend of text study, creative projects, guest speakers, and a field trip, students will explore both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament in their historical and cultural contexts and consider how these texts continue to speak to contemporary life. This course was formerly called New Testament Survey.
Students will earn 0.5 religion credits. Please note that students must have perfect attendance to receive credit.
*Please note that there is no class on Friday, July 3, in observance of the federal holiday.*
