Come explore the international world of cooking!
In Culinary Passport Cooking Camp, each day campers travel to a different continent, country, or region to learn about staple culinary dishes, and then they try their hand at preparing these dishes. Campers will explore each component of the dish through our senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. We learn how various components are combined to create a dish such as acidity, sweetness, savory, bitter, and umami flavors. We also study basic cooking skills such as chopping, cutting, and measuring, all at an age-appropriate level. At the end of the week, every camper will receive a Passport Recipe Book that contains all of the recipes learned!
Weeks 1 – 3 (June 15 – July 2) and Week 8 (August 3 – 7): Grades 5 – 7
Weeks 4 – 7 (July 6 – 31): Grades 2 – 4
*Please note that there will be no camp on Friday, June 19th, or on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the federal holidays.*
