Real World Skills: Typing and Finance Basics!

This camp is for real world skills: learning keyboarding and an introduction to financial literacy. In Keyboarding and Financial Skills Camp, campers will spend the morning learning how to type! As school work becomes increasingly performed on computers, today’s busy students can save time by learning to type effectively. Finish homework in half the time! Campers use a personalized system that allows them to progress at their own pace with a mix of typing lessons, drills, games and tests. Move from beginner, to intermediate, to advanced and earn badges for every level conquered. In the afternoon, campers will turn their attention to the practical elements of financial literacy and responsibility. This camp will be entirely interactive and project-based, providing hands-on opportunities for students to experience an understanding of the world we live in. We will discuss how to balance and live under a budget and the path to financial independence, how to understand our system of credit (including the incredible importance of maintaining excellent credit), how to properly manage and maintain bank accounts, and how to buy a car, among other topics.
