Ever dreamed of seeing your own words come to life on stage? Join our Playwright Camp and dive into the exciting world of playwriting! In this immersive week-long camp, you’ll learn the art of crafting compelling characters, developing captivating plots, and writing dialogue that sparks imagination. You’ll explore the art of stagecraft, understanding the basics of stage directions and setting the scene. Through collaborative workshops, you’ll work with fellow camper playwrights to develop and refine your scripts, and you’ll learn how to bring your stories to life through performance.

Playwriting Camp is led by Mr. Ricky Drummond, a faculty member in the SSSAS Middle School English Department and the Performing Arts Department. Mr. Drummond is an active member of the DC Theatre community, performing on such stages as The Kennedy Center and Signature Theatre.
