Get Ready for Pre-Algebra!
Don’t let the summer slide take your math skills! In this course, we will recap the major foundational skills taught in sixth grade math to help your student start 7th Grade Pre-Algebra with confidence and the abilities they need.
Concepts covered include whole number, decimal and fraction operations, solving one-step equations, the order of operations, and integers. Students will review with direct instruction and have the opportunity to practice during group, partner, and individual activities. Daily interactive games will be included to keep students engaged and enthusiastic to master concepts. We will end our session with a preview of Pre-Algebra concepts to help students feel confident in the fall.
Interested students can combine this course with 7th/8th Grade English Prep to create a full-day experience.
This class is taught by SSSAS faculty member, Ms. Julie Riedy. Ms. Riedy is very familiar with the middle school curriculum – she has taught Math 6 and Pre-Algebra in the past and currently teaches Algebra. If you have any questions regarding the course, please email Ms. Riedy at jriedy@sssas.org.
