An introduction to the sport of wrestling

Wrestling Camp is designed to introduce many elements of the sport of wrestling that will lead to success both on and off of the mat. Our staff will help wrestlers of all levels improve their skills and abilities by offering introduction to technique, hands-on instruction, live wrestling, and games. Campers will learn basic takedowns, moves from the bottom position, and pinning combinations, as well as ways to develop their own wrestling style. Off the mat, we focus on our team motto: “wrestling is training for life,” learning the many ways that our experiences in wrestling can help teach us life lessons. Coaches will also address important issues such as proper nutrition, hydration, and conditioning for wrestlers. Most importantly, this camp is designed to teach the sport of wrestling and encourage competition in a fun environment.

Campers will have swim time in the afternoons. Please remember to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and swim gear each day.

Wrestling Camp is directed by SSSAS Varsity Head Wrestling Coach Trae Humphreys. Please contact Coach Humphreys at thumphreys@sssas.org with any questions about this camp.
