August 10 - August 14
Lower School Campus
Can’t decide whether you want to play chess or code? You can have it all! Campers will split their day between chess and coding. During the chess portion of their day, campers play and learn about chess with Silver Knights! We've taught tens of thousands of children, including national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn and have fun! Campers are broken up into groups by skill level. Activities include learning the rules, openings, tactics, endgames, studying master games, and playing lots of games against other students.
During the second part of their day, campers will be exposed to the amazing world of coding! Campers will learn to code using a visual programming language called Scratch. The Digital Animation unit shows students how to program their own adventure stories, quiz games, and visual art. During the camp day, students will take breaks for snacks, lunch, and outdoor recess time. At the end of the week, each camper receives a t-shirt and a USB stick with all their programs.
Chess and Coding Camp is directed by Silver Knights Enrichment, a Summertimes partner. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any camp questions. For more information about Silver Knights, please visit skenrichment.com.
