Fire up your creative self and join the fun at Ceramic Arts Camp! Campers will expand their imaginations and explore the exciting world of art with various materials and through a wide range of projects. Campers will work with PMC, polymer clays, and high fire ceramics to coil, make sculptures, claymation videos, and pots using the pottery wheel. These budding artists will learn in a supportive, small class setting with plenty of individual instruction and inspiration. The camp is held at the SSSAS high school campus, which boasts one of the best sculpture studios in the area. The camp also includes lots of games and breaks for exercise, field trips to local galleries, and more! On Friday afternoon, parents and campers celebrate their accomplishements with an art exhibition, possible performances, and an ice cream party. Each camper will also take home a camper-designed T-shirt!
Ceramic Arts camp is led by SSSAS faculty member, Mr. Joey Wade, an award-winning artist who has been teaching art for over 20 years. Before moving to Virginia to teach ceramics, Mr. Wade taught design at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Contact Mr. Wade with any camp questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
