Phonemics Awareness Camp

Rising Grades K-2
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Half-Day)
August 12-16
Lower School Campus

Phonemic Awareness Camp is designed for early readers who want to put their best foot forward! Phonemic Awareness is made up of the skills to segment, blend, or manipulate speech sounds. It is one of the foundational skills for reading success. In this program, campers will engage in play-based and/or multi-sensory activities like jumping through hoola hoops or building with clay to strengthen their phonemic awareness skills and gain reading confidence. Expect to rhyme, sing, and have fun!

This camp is led by Ana Singer, current 2nd grade SSSAS teacher. Ms. Singer has seen Phonemic Awareness activities help many young students become successful, enthusiastic readers.
Questions about this AM half-day camp can be directed to asinger@sssas.org.
