Reader's Boost: Phonological Awareness

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Half-Day)
Session I: July 20 - July 24 (Rising Grades K - 1)
Session II: July 27 - July 31 (Rising Grades 1 - 2)
Lower School Campus

Reader's Boost is designed for early readers who want to put their best foot forward! Phonological Awareness is made up of the skills to segment, blend, or manipulate speech sounds. It is one of the foundational skills for reading success. In this program, campers will engage in play-based and/or multi-sensory activities like jumping through hoola hoops or building with clay to strengthen their phonological awareness skills and gain reading confidence. Many of the daily activities will be conducted outside. Expect to rhyme, sing, and have fun!

*For Session I, your camper must be 5 years of age at the time of the camp session in order to attend this camp.*

This camp is led by Ana Singer, current 2nd grade SSSAS teacher. Ms. Singer has seen phonological awareness activities help many young students become successful, enthusiastic readers. Questions about this AM half-day camp can be directed to asinger@sssas.org.

*Please note that this is an AM, half-day only camp.*
