Chess and Robotics
Rising Grades 1-5
9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
August 3–August 7
Lower School Campus
Can’t decide whether you want to play chess or build and program robots? You can have it all! Campers will split their day between chess and robotics. During the chess portion of their day, campers play and learn about chess with Silver Knights! We've taught tens of thousands of children, including national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn and have fun! Campers are broken up into groups by skill level. Activities include learning the rules, openings, tactics, endgames, studying master games, and playing lots of games against other students.
During the second part of their day, campers will be exposed to the amazing world of Extreme Machine robotics! Explore the world of mega-machines in this WeDo 2.0 LEGO Robotics camp. Build and program robots that get the job done! Build over-the-top vehicles and real-world engineering marvels in this fun camp that exposes students to the world of robotics. During the camp day, students will take breaks for snacks, lunch, and outdoor recess time. At the end of the week, campers receive a T-shirt.
Chess and Robotics Camp is directed by Silver Knights Enrichment, a SSSAS Summertimes partner. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any camp questions. For more information about Silver Knights, please visit skenrichment.com.
