Explore the excitement of the scientific world!

STEM Adventures Jr is a hands-on, inquiry-based exploration of our world specifically geared towards young learners. Fun, age-appropriate, hands-on, science activities that entertain as well as lay the foundation of a solid STEM education. Each camp day will be filled with exciting activities full of surprise and wonder. Science will come alive in amazing demonstrations as our campers learn the science behind the phenomena while being fully engaged in experiments and activities that teach them the basics of chemistry, physics, biology, geology, and paleontology.

Erupting volcanoes, messy chemistry experiments, making parachutes, rockets, and airplanes, and discovering how shocking and magnetic science can be. Making toys, musical instruments, circuits, and astronomy activities-the sky’s the limit! Fun, water-based summer activities that teach buoyancy and density, making slime and finding solutions to problems that crop up. This STEM camp is designed to tap into a child’s natural curiosity, provide opportunities for discovery, creativity, and trial and error. Children learn that science is everywhere, and is weird, wacky and wonderful, all at the same time! Things erupting, fizzing, popping, exploding, buzzing, and rolling are exciting enough.

Understanding HOW they do that is just as much fun – and very empowering! Our STEM camp will foster a passion for science, establish a strong foundation, and build important scientific process skills.

STEM Adventures Jr is led by SSSAS Lower School Science teacher, Mackie Berro. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Berro at mberro@sssas.org.
